Crescendo for a Cause is an officially registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in the U.S.A. Adlai E. Stevenson High School students Kiran Mohan and Allen Beckwith founded Crescendo for a Cause in 2018 with one mission in mind: to improve music education in underserved areas and to utilize music performance as a vehicle for advocacy and community service.

Our organization has multiple facets:

  • Amidst budget cuts in local school districts limiting music education opportunities for youth, we donate instruments we receive through our 501(c)(3) status and hold instrument drives that benefit these underprivileged communities.

  • Music has become one of the fastest-growing and most creative forms of therapy. To spread the joys of music and enhance the quality of life of our audiences, we perform at local assisted living facilities and juvenile corrections facilities.

  • As members of the Stevenson Band, we promote values of comradery and togetherness. With the ensemble being home to numerous musicians impacted directly or indirectly by cancer, our organization aims to spread awareness for pediatric cancer, and raise money to enrich the lives of young cancer victims.

We aim to make an impact in a variety of ways, with our outreach methods always revolving around our passion for music.
